Gregg Smith is the ultimate everyman blues/soul musician: obscure, regional, without major dollars, without national distribution. He's toiled away in the bars and small clubs, playing the standards and playing his own material. He's the face of every musician who has never had a big break, yet is sophisticated enough to write, arrange, produce, tour blues-loving Europe, and to work the local denizens of the USA to keep bread on the table.

Saturday October 4th

Zac Harmon is an award-winning guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose distinctive style provides a powerful soul message of the blues. He’s been called “a masterful musician and performer of the blues,” whose delivery rivals “Bobby Blue Bland uptown sophistication with a touch of Freddie King guitar.” Another reviewer intoned, “With his big blues sound from Mississippi, Harmon can go toe-to-toe with some of the best blues men in the business. Please don’t be shy, go ahead and mention Harmon’s name in the same sentence with Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland, Albert King and Bobby Rush—just to name a few.

SUNDAY MATINEE with Prophets and Outlaws

Sunday October 12th

This SOUTHERN SOUL band originated in a Jesuit high school set in the heart of metropolitan Dallas when two brothers and a best friend came together in their shared love of music. Almost a decade later, the now band of five boasts a massive fan base that spans ten states across the South and Midwest and an active online community of more than 25,000. Their commanding instrumental groove, relatable lyrics, and authentic five part harmonies have sent them to the top of the music charts and earned the band over 7 million Spotify streams. While on the road over 100 days a year across the country, this unity is extended as an invitation to their fans every night. Each night the connection forged is real. “Our fans support us like family would. It doesn't matter how far away from home we might be; they make us feel like we are right where we belong.” While recording the new album, PAO aimed to reciprocate that appreciation and prove that the feeling is mutual.

Mike Morgan, Jim Suhler & Texas Slim

Friday October 17th

"Dallas is known throughout the country for its wealth of great blues guitar slingers, and on October 17, we will be very proud and grateful to have three of the best sharing our stage. These guys are each amazing when they front their own bands, but when they play together (which is rare) it is really something extra cool. Texas Slim, Mike Morgan (The Crawl), and Jim Suhler (Monkey Beat) each bring their own style to the blues, both with their guitar riffs and their vocals. Come hear them swap songs, trade licks, and jam the blues. It's going to be special."

John Ford

Thursday October 23rd

It’s pre war blues, old school country, southern gospel and the history behind the music. John Ford assimilates the blues of the 1920’s and 30’s, the blues of Robert Johnson and Son House, a bit of 1940's country and a pinch of gospel rhythm, and comes up with his own brand of the roots experience. Ford has been writing since his early teens, growing up in New Richmond, Ohio a small river town 20 miles east of Cincinnati. “Whether it be songs I’ve written or an old song from the 1930’s, I play what I fall in love with".

SUNDAY MATINEE with Haymakers event photo

SUNDAY MATINEE with Haymakers

Sunday October 26th

Haymakers takes the concept of the string band and plugs it into a broad swath of acoustic music that stretches from Americana to bluegrass, from Appalachian folk music to bluesy western swing, and even into the realm of the jam band. Dustin Arbuckle (vocals/harmonica), Tom Page (vocals/guitar), Anthony Trupia (mandolin/vocals), and Caleb Drummond (bass/vocals) lock into an array of grooves that go in and outside the box of traditional acoustic music. The Wichita, Kansas-based group formed in 2012 and gradually honed their sound through steady gigs around the Sunflower State before releasing their debut, self-titled album in 2017. Since then the band has toured steadily throughout the Midwest and beyond, playing everywhere from festivals to rowdy bars to living rooms. Over the years they have cultivated a loyal fanbase and developed a reputation for lively performances that blend a wide variety of original and traditional songs performed in their own unique style.

Dustin Arbuckle & The Damnations

Saturday November 22nd

Dustin Arbuckle and The Damnations are not a band you can easily associate with one specific genre, and that's how they planned it. Arbuckle, a veteran of the progressive roots music scene whose singing and harmonica playing first came into prominence in Moreland & Arbuckle, has been kicking up fresh dust with The Damnations since 2017. A musician of vast appetites, he’s long held an appreciation for traditional American music in the vein of Charley Patton as well as the cross-pollinated sounds of The Band or Stax-style soul. The diverse musical sensibilities of The Damnations (Brandon Hudspeth on guitar, Caleb Drummond or Mark Foley on bass, and Colby Aiken on Drums) allow for all of that along with occasional forays into DEEP COUNTRY and even JAZZ. “When we started playing together we all wanted the band to be a space where we could play anything we wanted to," Arbuckle notes, "and that's created this cross-genre electric AMERICANA vibe."
