Please don’t be shy, go ahead and mention Harmon’s name in the same sentence with Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland, Albert King and Bobby Rush—just to name a few.

Stoney LaRue Candlelight Acoustic Show
Wednesday January 8th
PRESENTED BY 3418 MUSIC
Red Dirt Legend Stoney LaRue Candlelight Acoustic Show.
Throw away any preconceived notions you might have about country singers " especially ones from Texas " because Stoney LaRue smashes them all. Over a nearly 20-year career, the Lone Star-born and Oklahoma-raised LaRue has transformed himself into an unlikely Renaissance man. He is a deft songwriter, informed traveler and self-aware philosopher, a troubadour who converses just as easily about Indian yogis and gurus as he does about Texas barbecue and dance halls.
For LaRue, who has sold more than one million albums and singles in his career, fun means being on the road and playing live, tapping into a vast catalogue that includes influential LPs like 2005's The Red Dirt Album and his exhilarating 2007 live document Live at Billy Bob's Texas. Now, he's excited about taking Onward to fans around the country and reminding them that not only is he still here, he isn't going anywhere. "You have to be willing to live it. That's the only way to make it, and the way that I've made it," says LaRue of his remarkable longevity. "But I'm not haphazard in what I'm writing or singing anymore. I'm more focused and looking ahead to what I want to achieve." In other words, Stoney LaRue is looking Onward.

Haymakers
Thursday January 23rd
Haymakers takes the concept of the string band and plugs it into a broad swath of acoustic music that stretches from Americana to bluegrass, from Appalachian folk music to bluesy western swing, and even into the realm of the jam band. Dustin Arbuckle (vocals/harmonica), Tom Page (vocals/guitar), Anthony Trupia (mandolin/vocals), and Caleb Drummond (bass/vocals) lock into an array of grooves that go in and outside the box of traditional acoustic music. The Wichita, Kansas-based group formed in 2012 and gradually honed their sound through steady gigs around the Sunflower State before releasing their debut, self-titled album in 2017. Since then the band has toured steadily throughout the Midwest and beyond, playing everywhere from festivals to rowdy bars to living rooms. Over the years they have cultivated a loyal fanbase and developed a reputation for lively performances that blend a wide variety of original and traditional songs performed in their own unique style.

The Buffalo Ruckus
Friday February 28th
The Buffalo Ruckus’ music has been described as a compendium of roots, Americana, southern soul, psychedelic postmodern avant-garde and experimental country-fried rock. The songwriting is pure and soulful with stories of heritage, spirituality, redemption, love gained and love lost. Spun from the timbers of heart and soul, the Ruckus took its first musical breath in the middle of 2013. They quickly gained public attention after winning both the 2014 Texas Music Showdown and 2014 Shiner Rising Star competitions. The band has quickly spread its musical wings and taken its heavy soul-fueled sound through Texas, Georgia, New York, and the Midwest.
The Buffalo Ruckus has had the honor of performing on the nationally syndicated Troubadour, TX television show and at top-notch venues, including Billy Bob’s and the House of Blues, at large music festivals such as The Larry Joe Taylor music festival, Tommy Alverson’s Family Gathering, the 2015 Billy Bob’s 4th of July Picnic, Texas Music Revolution and the Wild Flower Festival. They have also had the distinction of opening for diverse artists, including Foghat, Cheap Trick, American Aquarium, The Dirty River boys, Ryan Bingham, Merle Haggard, The Turnpike Troubadours, and many others.
Boot-stomping rhythms, howling vocals, and spear-in-the-back guitar lead their overall objective: “Spread the Ruckus.” Their self-titled debut album was released in August of 2014 and was produced by the band and Grammy ® nominee Chris Bell (who has worked with the Eagles, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Erykah Badu, and U2). It took listeners on a raw genre-defying journey through Americana, folk, blues, country, and roots rock-n-roll and spawned two radio singles “High Again,” and “Angilee.”
Ray Wylie Hubbard Tweeted about the band saying “I dig what you guys are laying down.” It’s high praise indeed from one of the true pioneers of the modern-day Texas music movement.
