Dolby Kings

Saturday June 3rd

DOLBY KINGS features Monte Montgomery (named one of the top 50 guitarists of all time by Guitar Player Magazine), Dave Deshazo (bass guitar) and Phil Bass (drums). Individually, these talented and accomplished musicians have spent their careers playing a wide variety of music within a multitude of genres. However, it was their combined passion and admiration for the artists and bands of the 70’s that inspired the birth of DOLBY KINGS. Simply put, this was a way of getting together to play the songs they loved, from a musical generation they treasured (and much to the delight of their fans)! You won’t hear disco or those overplayed top 40 radio hits. Instead, Dolby Kings performs hidden gems you forgot you loved, from an era considered by most to be the golden age of musical creativity. Come immerse yourself in the music, the memories and the fun!

Since 2 days before Christmas 2003 Petty Theft has been rocking the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex with their shockingly accurate, true-to-it covers of the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  One of the largest draws on the local cover band scene, the band brings crowds to their feet, dropping every Tom Petty hit you could name, from 'American Girl' to 'Don't Come Around Here No More' and everything in between.  Offering up something from every album in the band's massive catalog, nothing is spared in order to get it right-from the sonic, and tonal qualities of every instrument, right on down through the presentation of same by the masterful players that comprise the band's roster.  Those who attend a PT show do so knowing they're going to see a band that will leave everything it has up there on the stage.  The band is mindful of this.  The goal is to never disappoint.  Disappointment rarely happens with Petty Theft.

JASON ELMORE & JIM SUHLER event photo

JASON ELMORE & JIM SUHLER

Thursday June 15th

Jim Suhler (born December 30, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, United States) is an American Texas blues guitarist. Suhler has been playing professionally since the 1980s and has performed with a variety of Blues legends that include George Thorogood, Johnny Winter, AC/DC, Buddy Whittington, Billy F. Gibbons, Joe Bonamassa, Elvin Bishop, and Buddy Guy along with many other notable musicians. He resides in Dallas, Texas and plays locally in and around Texas' major cities, especially Dallas/Fort Worth with his own band, Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat, in addition to the remainder of the United States and also Canada.

Having grown up with an obsession for all genres of western music, Elmore is remarkable in his ability to appeal to fans of any type of music with his virtuoso-level guitar playing, soulful and powerful old-school vocals, and keen sense of songwriting. It is common to see an artist excel at one of those three things, but Jason is uncanny in his ability to express himself with an original and unique voice as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter. All one needs to do is watch him play live one time in order to have a good understanding of how all of these different genres of music have a common thread when it comes to eliciting an emotional response from the listener and taking them to that special place where only the music exists and the troubles of the world are temporarily put on hold.
