SUNDAY MATINEE with Scott Sean White event photo

SUNDAY MATINEE with Scott Sean White

Sunday May 17th

Scott Sean White is a touring singer-songwriter who has had several songs recorded by country superstar Cody Johnson - two on Cody’s album “Human” - including “God Bless the Boy” and “Made a Home,” and one called “Over Missing You” on Cody’s latest album - the deluxe version of “Leather.”

Scott plays 120-150 shows a year at house concerts and listening rooms all over the country, and has also had several songs recorded by Bryan Martin as well, including “Years in the Making,” “Poets and Old Souls,” and “Wishbone.” Jack Ingram said, “Some songwriters spend precious time struggling to find their truth and make it rhyme. Others just pick up their guitar and tell it. Scott Sean White is one of the others.”

He is a storyteller, both in his songs, and the moments in-between songs, laying out his life experience - his faith and struggles - and intertwining it all with his craft. His live show is starkly honest, transparent, and eye-opening - full of laughter and probably a few (good) tears, too.

“…Powerful thinking and writing at its very best… a contender for album of the year” - Lesley Hastings, Country Lowdown

“It’s as if Fred Eaglesmith and Jeff Black went out drinking together and stayed up all night talking, drinking sweet tea, and writing. Right? Vulnerable, gutsy, and intellectually sharp.” - Marilyn Rea Beyer, host of Midnight Special, WFMT Chicago

Zac Harmon event photo

Zac Harmon

Saturday May 23rd

Zac Harmon is an award-winning guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose style continues the lineage of American Blues music.

Blues Revue called Harmon "a masterful musician and performer of the blues." Blues journalist Don Wilcock referred to his "Bobby Blue Bland uptown sophistication with a touch of Freddie King guitar." And JazzReview said, "With his big blues sound from Mississippi, Harmon can go toe to toe with some of the best blues men in the business. Please don't be shy, go ahead and mention Harmon's name in the same sentence with Bobby "Blue" Bland, Albert King and Bobby Rush, just to name a few."

Zac Harmon tours both nationally and internationally as an ambassador of this great American music art form called the Blues. His live shows are a non- stop low down throwdown as he brings audiences to their feet with his irresistible passion and enthusiasm.

Zac Harmon's Floreada's Boy is an amalgam of good old-fashioned soul music and fiery electric rockin' blues. Every song on Floreada's Boy is a keeper. - Frank Matheis - Living Blues

Zac Harmon is a real-deal bluesman with killer guitar chops, solid songwriting skills, and the ultimate rhythm and blues voice. - Rex Bartholomew - Blues Blast

Not since Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf have I seen a stage presence as seriously seductive as this was, and backed by a seasoned band that knew the score. ~ Don Wilcock

Petty Theft event photo

Petty Theft

Friday May 29th

For nearly two decades, Petty Theft has been tearing up the Dallas-Ft Worth area with their spot-on renditions of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' tunes. They're a big deal in the local cover band scene, always getting the crowd on their feet with every Tom Petty classic you can think of, from 'American Girl' to 'Don't Come Around Here No More' and everything in between. They make sure to cover something from every album in Tom Petty's extensive catalog, nailing every little detail from the sound to the performance. When you go to one of their shows, you know you're in for a band that gives it their all on stage. They're all about leaving it all out there and never letting their fans down. And trust me, disappointment is a rare thing when it comes to Petty Theft.

2024 Texas Country Music Association Roots / Alternative Group of the Year

Before there was Americana, before there was Texas Country, Two Tons of Steel front man Kevin Geil and his original band, "Dead Crickets," rocked a sound that blended the best of musical worlds and pushed the envelope of "Texas" sound with a signature brand of high-energy country. The group released "Gone" in mid 2018 and won the Ameripolitan Honky Tonk Group of the Year in 2019. The San Antonio-based group packed the small bars and local hangouts and quickly became the Alamo City's most-loved band, earning them a spot on the cover of Billboard Magazine. It was the beginning of a twenty year journey for Geil and the 4-piece ensemble. Releasing "Two Tons Of Steel" in 1994 and "Crazy For My Baby" in 1995 on Blue Fire Records, a sponsorship deal with Lone Star Beer quickly followed. Dead Crickets, renamed Two Tons of Steel in 1996 began traveling outside of Texas, including stops at the Grand Ole' Opry in Nashville, Tenn., the National Theater in Havana, Cuba, and European tours, to greet fans who had embraced their Texas-born sound. In 1996 they released "Oh No!" on their independent label, "Big Bellied Records." They followed up the passion project with a live recording at the legendary Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, taped during a Two Ton Tuesday Show 1998. In 2023, the band will mark 27 years of "Two Ton Tuesday Live from Gruene Hall." The summer- long event has drawn over 275,000 fans since it began its annual run in 1995. The popular concert series was captured in "Two Ton Tuesday Live," a DVD-CD combo released on Palo Duro Records in 2006. Also that year, the band's first national release, "Vegas," produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Lloyd Maines on the Palo Duro label, took them to No. 7 on the Americana Music Charts and was one of the top 20 releases of 2006. Two Tons released "Not That Lucky" in 2009. The album peaked at No. 4 on the Americana Music Charts and has made Two Tons of Steel a legend on the Texas Music Scene. Along the way, the band has collected a number of awards. To date, Two Tons has cleaned up at home, winning "Band of the Year" on 12 separate occasions and "Album of the Year" for its self-titled debut. Two Tons has also been named "Best Country Band" by the San Antonio Current ten times. Geil also has nabbed 'Best Male Vocal' honors four times. Two Tons of Steel's reach extends beyond their live gigs. The band was filmed during a "Two Ton Tuesday" gig for the IMAX film, "Texas: The Big Picture," which can be seen daily at the IMAX Theatre in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin and has been seen as far away as Japan. The band also has been featured as supporting characters in award- winning author Karen Kendall's romance novel, "First Date." Two Tons Of Steel, Kevin Geil, JD Larish on Bass, Stephen James on Lead Guitar and Rich Alcorta on Drums preform about 200 shows a year and are currently on tour supporting "Gone" there 12th release.
